Dr. Wohl is a project scientist at the Scripps Research Institute. She is interested in using genomic epidemiology to track the spread of infectious diseases. Her research in the ID Dynamics group focuses on understanding the transmission of cholera and developing methods to integrate pathogen sequence data and epidemiological models. Shirlee completed her PhD in Systems Biology at Harvard University in 2018, where she used phylogenetic methods to understand viral transmission during outbreaks. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2022.
